TIBET IN SONG celebrates the richness of traditional Tibetan folk music while confronting the painful reality of five decades of cultural repression under Chinese rule. Directed by Ngawang Choephel, himself a former Tibetan political prisoner, the film blends beauty and suffering, cruelty and resilience to tell a deeply human story. Through Choephel’s unique perspective, Tibet is revealed in a way never before captured on screen. The film features original compositions by Choephel alongside a powerful collection of traditional folk songs performed by Tibetan singers.
